Original Joe's supports 4 provincial associations

You are here

Original Joe’s Restaurant and Bar will raise funds for food banks over the next four months through its Community Pint program at OJ’s locations throughout Western Canada.

Between now and May 31, 2015, Original Joe’s and Big Rock will each donate 25 cents to provincial food bank associations in each participating market for every Original Joe’s Red pint sold at OJ’s locations. Alberta Food Banks is the recipient of funds in this province.

OJ’s popular Community Pint program, part of their overall Community Care Fund, provides locations the opportunity to fundraise for an organization of their choice. Fifty cents from the featured pint is donated to the cause. To date, OJ’s has raised more than $275,000 to noteworthy causes across Western Canada through its Community Pint program.

“Thousands of Canadians depend on food banks every day to take care of themselves and their families,” says Elena Remoundos, Marketing and Communications Manager for Original Joe’s, “We want to ensure that food banks have the resources to support those in need all year round. We know the funds will support provincial programming to assist many food banks.”

The organizations involved in the upcoming OJ’s Community Pint program include: Food Banks BC – beneficiary for 18 British Columbia locations, Alberta Food Banks – beneficiary for 37 locations, Food Banks of Saskatchewan Corporation – beneficiary for 6 Saskatchewan locations, and the Manitoba Association of Food Banks – beneficiary for 3 Winnipeg locations.

“We were so pleased to hear Original Joe’s wanted to support provincial programming for food banks in western Canada,” says Stephanie Rigby, executive director of Alberta Food Banks. “The funds will assist in our ongoing efforts to support our 60 member food banks across the province with resources and programming.”
