Okotoks Food Bank Association will be celebrating the grand opening of their new building.

The ribbon-cutting is at 6:15 pm.

What began as neighbours helping neighbours in the basement of a church in 1989 has grown into the Interfaith Food Bank Society of Lethbridge.

This summer the food bank will host an open house to showcase their activities over the last 25 years and celebrate the great community efforts that has brought them this far.

The cost of admission is FREE with a donation of a non-perishable food item in support of the Wood Buffalo Food Bank Association.

Alberta Food Banks held its annual general meeting (AGM) on May 21, 2014 at the provincial conference in Edmonton. You can download and read the 2013 annual report, which highlights the activities of the association for the last fiscal year (January to December 2013). The 8th Annual Empty Bowls Arts Festival is a celebration of local talent in visual and performing arts in order to build community in the Airdrie area, raise awareness of local hunger issues and raise funds for the Airdrie Food Bank operations.
